Do you ever sit around deciding which three things you’d take with you to a deserted island? What you’d totally need and couldn’t live without? A big jar of peanut butter always makes my list.
Come to think of it, after I decide on peanut butter I usually get bored and find something else to do.
So to restate that accurately…I sit around deciding to take peanut butter with me to deserted islands.
That’s kind of awesome.
And I know, I see the ads: peanut butter gets involved with some pretty shady stuff. Lots of sugar, lots of questionable ingredients, cereals that tear the roof of your mouth off (I’m lookin at you, Cap’n Crunch)…I’ve even heard rumblings it’s involved with some hot mess on a plate at the Cheesecake Factory. I’ve never been in a Cheesecake Factory, but I used to wait for a bus across from one regularly.
I have one thing to say about all this: Don’t hate the playa. Hate the game.
I totally stand by my love of peanut butter. It’s a high-protein, high-fiber natural mood booster that just happens to be one of the most delicious foodstuffs ever, ever. It’s perfect in every way, including spooned directly from the jar. That’s one of its highest levels of perfection, actually.
