We really, really love food. And we love other people who really, really love food. So we want to recommend some of our favorite foodistas, cause we think you’ll love them too.
There are chefs I love to watch because their food just looks so darn delicious; there are chefs I love to watch because they present things so clearly and explain things so well; and there are chefs I love to watch because they just seem like really nice people who really love to cook, and it’s a pleasure spending time with them. Bhavna scores on all three counts.
I discovered Bhavna’s Kitchen late one night when I was cruising YouTube looking for new ways to use tofu, and I wound up spending literally hours wandering through her incredible array of outstanding recipe videos. If you’re a fan of Indian food, her channel is a goldmine! Literally hundreds of recipe videos and a host well-categorized playlists provide both education and inspiration.
But Indian food is just part of the picture – all her dishes are vegetarian, and she has playlists of vegan recipes, egg-free recipes, Italian, Mexican, and Indo-Chinese recipes, kitchen basics, and even gardening videos.
One of the best things about Bhavna’s Kitchen is Bhavna herself – watching her videos really is like spending time in the kitchen of a good friend who just happens to be a terrific cook. She’s clearly a busy Mom – sometimes you see her kids – and the food she makes isn’t “show food”, it’s realistic, affordable, healthy food for a family.
Before I wandered into Bhavna’s Kitchen, I loved Indian food but considered it a treat I could only enjoy in a restaurant; I really never thought of it as something I could make myself. But now it’s a staple part of the menu! I’ve really learned a LOT watching her videos – like how to make my own paneer (which isn’t available in my local stores).
If you’ve never visited Bhavna’s Kitchen, don’t wait – you’re in for a treat. I guarantee you’ll be glad you did.
